Assalam o Alaikum Warahmatullah Dear Community Members!
Alhumdulilla we have decided to build an extension on the north side of MMI building for ladies.
Currently there is small portion at the back of Men’s area being used for ladies to pray. This portion is separated by partition. The problem with existing area is that If ladies needs to go for wadu/restroom, they have to pass through the same passage for men.
Another problem is when there is any event in masjid, we cannot accommodate ladies in same men’s area. We have to arrange their sitting in hifz classrooms. The problem is that ladies cannot pray in congregation with Imam because hifz classrooms area is ahead of Imam.
In Sha Allah after building seperate area for ladies, we will have following benefits:
- Ladies will have separate entrance/exit to Masjid Area.
- Ladies will have new wudu/bathroom area within new building.
- Ladies can pray in congregation in events.
- Students of Masjid Madinatul Ilm/ Ayesha Academy will also be using this hall as their indoor play area during winter.
- It will also serve as a multipurpose room for activities like graduations, orientations, seminars, and conferences.
- Men’s area will have extra space for Jumuah and events which is currently used for ladies.
Alhamdulillah we have got the approval from city. Total cost of the project is $400,000.
